Música do Brazil (2025)
My most recent project is an album of Brazilian music which I am currently recording and mixing (2025). The idea arised when I first learned about the music style choro a few years back, a fascinating genre that became my new musical obsession.
Choro is a traditional music genre from Brazil that has European and African influences and is very virtuosic.
I learned about great choro players and composers like Ernesto Nazareth, Jacob do Bandolim, Garoto and Raphael Rabello.
The choro journey also made me rediscover bossa nova, especially Luiz Bonfa and Stan Getz. My aim is to record a collection of songs that captures the great variety of Brazilian music styles.

Bossa nova recordings
The first songs I recorded for the album were the bossa nova classics 'Insensatez', 'Só Danço Samba' and 'O morro nao tem vez'.
I was very happy with the musicians who took the time to record these songs with me in the studio of Bruce Lim.
Drums: Nick Jones
Double bass: Leo Verbree
Piano: Bruce Lim
Alt sax: Vincent Kuit
(work in progress)
